A few tips before making a bid or 'buy it now' on eBay sites.

Check out the Seller

Before you make any bids or 'Buy it Now' actions on eBay auction sites it cannot be stressed enough for you to check out the sellers reputation beforehand.

Look at the sellers profile and check out their feedback comments and try to get a picture of what this seller is like.

Don't just look at their overall percentage score. Look at the comments left by other buyers and if their are negative ones check them out.

Make sure you read both comments, the buyer and the seller in any negative feedback comments.

Sometimes the buyer is at fault and leaves unfair comments when the seller has done their utmost to resolve any dispute.

Check out the buyer that has left negative comments, they may be impossible to please.

Know what your buying

1. Check the description. Make sure you understand what the seller is trying to sell, if there are any discrepancies then contact the seller.

2. Check the postage and packing costs especially if you are in a different country from the seller. If he does not quote international delivery then you can always ask for a quote.

3. Check out the sellers returns policy.

4. If there is something you are not sure about then ask the seller a question.

5. Remember, once you make a 'buy it now' you are agreeing to a contract - You will enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item from the seller.
You are responsible for reading the full item listing, including the seller's instructions and accepted payment methods.

6. Whatever you do, don't bid unless you intend to go all the way and pay for the item if you win it.
